Attendance

Choose your preferred method beginning January 16, 2024: 

1. Phone
   Call 1-844-305-3755 to report absences by 8am for 6-12th graders, and 9am by Pk-5th graders.
   
   You must call using the phone number on file in Final Forms in order to be connected to your child(ren). If you need to update your phone number, please do so within Final Forms.
    

2. School Messenger App
   Report absences within the School Messenger app.
   (Instructions below!)

For both of these options, you can send attendance alerts for all of your FCS children and provide a reason for each absence. 

While it’s best to notify the school in advance of an absence, you can also rapidly respond to excuse an absence if you did not remember ahead of time.  When this happens, you will receive an automated phone call asking for the reason for your child’s absence.

If you receive this automated phone call when you believe your child to be at school, please contact the school directly and immediately.

To create an account and use the app:

1. Download the School Messenger app.

2. Create an account using the email address on file within Final Forms.   If you have a new email address, you must change it within Final Forms first in order to be connected to your children.

3. You will receive an activation email, and then you can log in. Your child(ren) will be automatically connected to you, and you can report an absence without making a single phone call!

After you have created an account, please open the School Messenger app, and Log In.

Select “Attendance” in the menu.  Please note:  We do not have the “Messages” feature.  You will only use “Attendance” in this menu.

You will see a log of any absences so far this year. 

Select the plus sign in the bottom corner, and then follow the prompts to submit an absence.

Do I use School Messenger when my child has to leave school for an appointment in the middle of the day or will be leaving school early?
You will not use School Messenger in this case!  Please send a note with your child indicating the time you will be picking them up from school so the office is aware of your arrival!


What happens if I don't respond to the autocaller or emails notifying me of an unexplained absence for my child?
The caller will continue to call, and emails will continue to be sent.  Your child's absence will be marked unexcused.

Can I report my child's absences ahead of time if I already know they have appointments or planned absences in the future?
You can report absences for future dates for any of your children in the School Messenger App!

Students are given up to three religious expression days per school year provided that the parent or guardian provides written notice to the school or district of the selected days within 14 schools days of the start of school. Please see Board Policy JEDC for full policy information.
